27 June marks World Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day, established by the United Nations General Assembly. It is an opportunity to recognise the fundamental contribution of SMEs to the global economy, highlighting their role in job creation, innovation and economic growth.

In Italy, SMEs are particularly important: they represent 92% of active businesses and employ 82% of workers, well above the European average.
